Called to the Community

Have you ever been in a place where you felt like you didn’t really belong? In the book of Jeremiah, God’s people find themselves in exile, having lost their homeland and everything they knew. Several different groups are exiled to different parts of the land. In Jeremiah chapter 29, Jeremiah writes a letter to a group of exiles in Babylonia on God’s behalf. God tells the exiles to settle down and seek the good and the peace of the new strange land they find themselves in. Through the lens of this passage, we will dive into the ways that we serve God and our communities in our modern-day 9-to-5 jobs, and how God uses each one of us to contribute to the care and nurturing of the communities that He has placed us in.
