cit (counselor in training) program
**SEE UPDATED DEADLINE DATE BELOW**
Our Counselor in Training (CIT) program is for students entering 7th-11th grades. We will have a very limited number
of CITs this year and those accepted will initially be on a trial basis. Those applying to be a CIT need to be individuals
who aspire to work with children and learn leadership skills. Additionally, CITs should show responsibility, enthusiasm
and a willingness to grow. Our desired outcome is the time and effort that they have contributed will give
them valuable work experience and training.
CITs will learn valuable leadership and work skills while guiding our younger campers to a summer of adventure and
lasting memories. CITs assist staff members in program fun and supervision of an assigned group of campers ages 6-11. While a CIT is never left alone to supervise a group, the CIT will develop valuable supervisory, teaching,
coaching, and real work experience and skills.
The program will run for 8 weeks from June 12 – August 4 from 8:00am until 4:30pm. Registration is four 2-week sessions. The weekly fees are $80.00 and a one-time $50 registration fee. Week 4 fees will be reduced due to the 4th of July holiday. Fees include snacks, field trips, special events and lunch whenever it is supplied. Potential CITs must fill out an
application and be interviewed by the Day Camp Coordinator before the registration process begins.
Click on the link below to print an application. Complete and return to the Connecting Kids office, B204 or scan to
Taylor at taylorh@nl-cc.org no later than Friday 4/17/23, NO EXCEPTIONS.
