Lose Your Life

As the Apostle Peter realizes and declares that Jesus is the Christ, He is the Messiah; Jesus responds be declaring that He will suffer many things. After Peter attempts to rebuke Jesus, Jesus rebukes him back, by stating to all the disciples and the entire crowd present, that in order to a disciple of Jesus you need to take up your cross and deny your own life. This sermon is a reminder of the suffering and sacrifice we are called to as disciples of Jesus and maybe we have lost sight of this and focused too much on the blessings we hope God gives us.
