Developing a Heart of Gratitude

Nov 12, 2023    Juno Smalley

In our setting, it is so easy to confine that idea of Gratitude to Thanksgiving, and just thinking of it as an event that comes and goes. Gratitude is a something most people can connect with, but many people struggle with it. This sermon will help put some real life solutions in helping you to develop a heart of gratitude.

Psalm 100 is a reminder that thanksgiving and praise is apart of human culture not just a ling weekend in November.

It’s interesting that worship is tied to having a heart of gratitude, yet for many people, they stay away from church when times get challenging or when there is a bump in the road.

Often we can worship multi-tasking and take pride that you can do so much at one time, yet developing a heart of gratitude, start when you can be present in your current situation. It doesn’t have to be a celebration of any kind, but that gratitude grows when sorrow intersects our worship with God.

Developing a heart of gratitude, often requires intentional efforts. It’s a difficult process, but as you start to grow in gratitude your health, your self esteem, your relationships all start to become much more life giving.
